Plagiarism is a Crime

Copying works from someone or getting information from the web makes our research easier though there are some people who gets information through the internet without giving credits to its owners. And in the rule of law this is what we called Plagiarism.

Plagiarism is the simplest and easiest way of:

  • stealing and passing off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own.
  • to use (another's production) without crediting the source.
  • to commit literary theft.
  • to present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source.
Literally, Plagiarism is an act of fraud, and it is according to Merriam Websters Online Dictionary.



Plagiarism is another way of stealing. What are the things that can be plagiarize? 
Anything can be plagiarize, as long as it is a information, an idea, song, context, quotations, videos, photographs, and even words.  Almost all forms of expression that is under a copyright protection as long as they are recorded in some way.

ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ARE CONSIDERED PLAGIARISM:

  • turning in someone else's work as your own
  • copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit
  • failing to put a quotation in quotation marks
  • giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation
  • changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit
  • copying so many words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not.

  • PLAN YOUR PAPER
  • TAKE EFFECTIVE NOTES

  • WHEN IN DOUBT, CITE SOURCES
  • MAKE IT CLEAR WHO SAID WHAT
  • KNOW HOW TO PARAPHRASE
  • ANALYZE AND EVALUATE YOUR SOURCES

  1. Puuhhhlagiarism, steal, copy, kill, an act that an individual do when doing reports and researches. I know it's hard to deny but, i think you've been one of those who had done this, and so do I. But great work, it's very informative of this to let us know why plagiarism is bad.
