THE FINAL STAGE: SPEECH CHOIR

THE FINAL STAGE: SPEECH CHOIR

THE FINAL STAGE: SAVAGE ASAF

The feeling that you know that you're great and you did your best, then suddenly the table turns down and your expectation gets worsen. I'll be honest, what happen a while ago was a shit of a bull. Ughhhh seriously I don't want to be rude but I know in my own self that did our best and our best wasn't good enough for them.

We cried we internalize every words that came out from our mouth but think that the judges didn't liked it.

I just want to ask them. WHY?

We should have done the effort. We should have made our performance NORMAL.  But that's what they want we can't do something about it.

Ms. Nina liked our performance. She said that she had a goosebumps watching us. We are in character, and they feel the feelings that we expressed. And also sir Nomer and si Fruto appreciated our performance. I l know we have it! We are qualified! And we should have win but at the end. Normal is the best. Normal wins.

We did it professionally, almost like a theater performance. The mechanics is USELESS. I don't know If the judges really knew about what's the deep meaning inside Maya Angelou's The Cage Bird and if they also read about the mechanics. But for sure they didn't even take a glance of it.

Yes! I disagree I hated the result and that's what I feel. I RESPECT THE JUDGES DECISION and also the students who performed earlier.

But for me. "ABMA152 DESERVES WHAT WE DESERVE AND IT IS TO WIN."

THOUGHTS WILL BE JUST THOUGHTS.

Public Speaking Competion: My own version

Public Speaking Competion: My own version

My own perspective of Integrity
Since I didn't have a chance to express my self opinion about Integrity has no need of rules. I did a speech or an essay on what is the Integrity I believe and I really point it out in politics because the election is coming and so I want us to learn from the past experience and chose wisely this time. WE DON'T WANT TO GET OUR LIVES UNDESIRABLE.

The Leaders Integrity

The Election Day is fast approaching and it is the time to decide what future we want to happen in the next six years because the future is in our hands. We always complain about the traffic, the energy prices costly. The oil price hike, that causes our cost of living expensive. Why do we always complain? Although some of us didn’t even bother to comment about what they have experienced in the past 6 years of suffering.

Do you ever think who made this crisis and corruption happened? Sorry to say but it is us, it is our own fault. We didn’t scrutinize our present leaders’ hidden agenda, their background and their personality. We know them by name, by where family they came from and also because of the fame. Every vote counts, every vote dictates our future and so we need to choose a right leader who has the opposite of all of this negativity that is happening right now.

A very essential trait in the character that a leader should have is integrity. It should occur or can be seen in him in times of crisis, calamities or wars and yes of course, in times of peace where in all people are busy with their respective endeavors and happy life. During crisis a leader should be stiff and strong with his decisions. And in times of peace, he should be transparent. Being straight and transparent in all of his dealings signifies integrity.

Once the people of his country finds out that he possess integrity in his character, they will surely love him, follow his guidance and pronouncement. They will trust him and of course will work for him for as long as a person follows the morally upright traits with a good values and characters, he is a person of Integrity.

Integrity has no need of rules, it is just a gift of good character. A person who possesses this is considered a gifted one. If a leader is gifted with integrity, he can led his followers to the fullest of his reign. Integrity of a leader begets respect from his followers and respect begets harmony among all the constituents of this country.

Indie Film: Sana Dati

Indie Film: Sana Dati

Cliche but has it's Spice!

The film similarly starts with the past. Memories of the main characters intersperse continuously and constantly with the present, at times intrusively so. It practically swept the awards at the Director’s Showcase of this year’s Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, and shows us that Filipino cinema is ready, and able, to step up its game.

To review the story of Sana Dati,
It is the day of Andrea’s wedding to Robert, who possesses the golden trifecta of in-law acceptance: he’s handsome, powerful, and, most importantly, wealthy. Yet, she is clearly distracted. Dennis, the wedding videographer, arrives to shoot some pre-wedding interviews and it is clear to Andrea, and the rest of us watching, that Dennis knows a little too much about the bride-to-be. More questions about Andrea and Dennis begin to arise, and slowly her secret past is revealed and we begin to learn exactly why Andrea is so unsure about her pending marriage.
As the bride, Lovi Poe is spectacular in her honesty and absolutely glows on-screen with each of her three leading men. While the film is non-linear, the story itself is refreshing in its simplicity. As Lovi Poe’s character prepares unenthusiastically for her wedding, she is also trying to grapple with her doubts and emotions that are as alive, if not more, than her current reality.
The entire movie shows her struggle between moving on from her feelings of what-could-have-been and her thoughts of what her life could be with a man whom she is uncertain if she really loves.
Sana Dati is a visually stunning romance drama with hints of light humor. Its expertly photographed scenes evoke emotion and convey information at an unhurried pace.
Lovi Poe is exquisite as the confused grief-stricken bride. Being a regular in the indie movie scene, she is now proficient in displaying intense emotions in a subdued manner. Her listlessness in the first part of the film, her eventual confusion and sorrow can be felt to as far back as the last row in the theater.
Paulo Avelino seems to have reached a level of maturity in his emotive performance as a mourning brother trying to resolve his own issues by dealing with it in the present.
TJ Trinidad, the dashing groom, is effective in his portrayal as a man seeking a new life by looking into the future and marking it with a wedding to a woman he has yet to figure out.
Past, present and the possibilities of the future collide with each other all throughout the movie—making scenes appear seemingly scattered and confusing.

Just in case the audience didn’t get the filmmaker’s purpose, the reason for the apparent confusion is appropriately explained almost like a Physics lecture via the term “singularity.” However, the movie felt more like a representation of Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. Though the film was approximately 90 minutes in length, it felt like two hours.
There are moments when the audience seemed to literally be part of the movie as wedding guests. The feelings of impatience and frustration loom as everyone is forced to wait until the main characters are done indulging in their pain and memories.
Details are provided almost like teasers. One is allowed a peek of a critical information here, a hint of an explosive data there, only to be pulled back again and denied. This pattern goes on throughout the film until curiosities are satisfied and every gap is filled in the end. Though intellectually impressive, it is manipulative in its attempt to tug at heartstrings—a technique that bears resemblance to those used in mainstream romantic films.

The cry of the Phantom

The cry of the Phantom

So since I didn't make it to ERC's storytelling in the auditorium because of my responsibilities as an organizer of Bahay Bombilya in two different events with the same time (i almost die running up and downstairs from 1st to 10th floor of APC building btw its not ur prob right? )
... i will leave this blog spot for The Phantom of the Opera.

Does Christine love Raoul or the Phantom?

She is torn between two loves. Raoul, who represents safety, light, and a sort of romantic, adolescent view of what true love should mean and then there is Erik, the Phantom, with whom Christine has had a long time bond. He has been to her like a guardian angel.

For Christine, the Phantom's love must have been quite frightening. He stalked her, kidnapped her, murdered people for her, it's a very passionate sort of love and for a young girl who has never loved before, it must have seemed scary. Raoul was like the perfect gentlemen. He tried to protect her (keyword, tried, he failed), swore his love to her, gave her the chance to love him, an actual option which the Phantom didn't. Plus, the mob was looking for the Phantom. If she went with Raoul, she could have lived a peaceful and solitary life, a life which the Phantom couldn't give her. He's a murderer and would have been hunted by the police. Raoul was the safer option.
I would have chosen the Phantom personally. I believe that with true love, she could have changed him. He'd never had love before and it's only natural for him to be insecure with it! But ah well, each to his own!

The background of the three principle characters in the love triangle.    First let's look at Christine's early background before her father died.  Talking to Meg, Christine says " It's Raoul. Before my father died,  at the house by the sea.  I  guess you could say we were childhood sweethearts. He called me Little  Lotte."
Raoul was affected by his childhood experience just as much.  He did not see Christine at his first tour, but at the performance that night he exclaims "Can it be?
Can it be Christine? Bravo!
Long ago, it seemed so long ago
How young and innocent we were
She may not remember me,
But I remember her.
Erik (Yes, the Phantom has a name) had different reasons for loving Christine.
I have brought you, to the seat of sweet music's throne. To this kingdom where all must pay homage to music, music
You have come here, for one purpose, and one alone, since the moment I  first heard you sing, I have needed you with me to serve me to sing, for  my music, my music
Erik needs her for her musical abilities.
You alone can make my song take flight
Help me make the music of the night.
The Phantom becomes extremely  jealous when it becomes clear that Christine loves Raoul more than she loves him, and feels threatened that his music (The one beautiful thing in his life) is in danger due to Raoul.  When his jealousy and rage reveal how ugly his life is (Outside of Music), He kidnaps Christine in a desperate attempt to convince her that he too was worthy of love.  Raoul undertakes a terrifying risk to rescue Christine, and when the Phantom sees that he has Christine's pity, but could never have her love, combined with the love that Raoul shows by risking his life, lets her go.  Christine goes with Raoul as he had always been her romantic love.

Hotties Birthday Boom!

Hotties Birthday Boom!

AYOO RAMS!

Last March 18, 2016. An actor, model, and an english poet writer Benjamin Alves made the whole MPH1 sizzling hot as he enters and greet the Frosh RAMS of APC and I'm one of them! At  first I wasn't sure about what will happened at that said event. I thought that It might be someones birthday or a birthday of one of our professors child but it wasn't. I just realized that it was Mr. Alves birthday when he enters the room. Everyone was stunned by his appearance. I was stunned too! I can't forget those moment when we met each others eyes.. ( LOOOOOOL SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME ON ME PLEASE!) But seriously, he has this kind of charisma that can make your eyes fixed to him. Oh my name! forgive me on my statements. I'm just expressing my thoughts, remeniscing those moment. DAMN I SHOULD STOP FANTASIZING HIM!

He also show us what is his hidden talent.. That he also likes to write poets. Creating poetry according to him is his way to express what his heart speaks about. Those hidden messages that sometimes he couldn't discuss. In poetry, he can speak it up all. And i think that writing such a poet makes him unstressed about what emotional problem sometimes he has. In fact for you guys, Mr. Benjamin Alves is not just only handsome, but he got the brain and the heart, what most of the girls admires from their opposite sex.

(omg my english is going cazy. In chaos!!) I was really stunned. I can't forget those eyes. I didn't joined the games because I was too shy to get close to him because I might get red or suddenly die because of kilig. (dfuq what i'am saying???)  I SHOULD REALLY STOP MY FEELS. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THERE ARE SOME ARTIST OUT THERE THAT ARE WAITING TO BE NOTICED BY THE PUBLIC. (nakakasawa na kasi yung iba na laging binibigyan ng project sa TV paulit ulit nalang na sila yung lumalabas sa TV nakakasuya)

SORRY FOR THE WORD BUT THAT IS MY STATEMENT. WE SHOULD LEARN TO SEARCH FOR MORE TALENT LIKE BENJAMIN ALVES. BY THE WAY THIS CAPSLOCK IS TOO MUCH.

BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIR :)

Who Wants to be a Millionaire (APCian edition)

Who Wants to be a Millionaire (APCian edition)

Who Wants to be a Millionaire

Who wants to be a millionaire? Yeey! Of course we all do! But at this point Who want's to be a millionaire is not all about the money. but it is about the pride of every blocks who'd joined the contest last college week. The contest mechanics is - the players will play as a group and should answer the same answer that has been given by the MC's. The players will be given a exact time to think and write their answers on their white board (each team has their own white board and a marker.)

So lets move on to the rounds. Every round has no definite categories of questions because it can be randomize. And yes of course the questions is all about general knowledge. Yeah! So general knowledge is all about the random things that anyone can answer specially those people who is obsessed in watching tv series and shows, the bookish, and those persons who likes to know anything.

And after all of these rounds, The hard-work in thinking. (I know how it feels. I'm currently in that situation right now. Thinking of what to say next after the next word that I am about to type.. Like this yeah! hahaha!) The exchange of ideas or brain storming, and the time is pressuring them... My team finally get to the top two. At first i thought in the last top 3 participants.. I thought that they couldn't make it because of the mistakes that they are committing, but isn't it great? My thoughts were just only my thoughts. I doubt, but it was just a doubt but they actually made it.

At the final round the game seems so intense. The both teams may know the answer to the same question but they can be blank space as well. Some questions were really easy but we can't be really sure. Every mind has its own content right? (btw I'm just typing what my head or my little routing mind wants to express, yeah really it stinks :(. )

So yeah! After all of that my classmates, Huey, Lexi, Daddy Jed won the game not as the Champion but as a 1st runner up. It's ok for me, I didn't expect that the ABMA 13+ liners has the same IQ as what my very brainy classmate has. Imagine that they was challenged by the higher batches that who has more experience with those games because they were staying at APC for some years.

Enough of all of these!

 CONGRATS CLASSMATES!! ^_^

Hi Mr. Paddington

Hi Mr. Paddington

Hi Mr. Paddington!
Can you give me a hug?

Seriously, I really love Paddington and I wish that i could have a friend but not a pet like Paddington. It's kind a unique or weird talking to a bear but don't you think its cool? I usually talks with my cats and dog and wish for their reply, so maybe that is how frustrated I'am for waiting for their response
but watching Paddington makes me happy. For further introduction, Mr. Paddington is a bear who lives in the deep jungle of darkest peru. Montgomery Clyde, a British geographer has found a unknown species of bear and is about to shoot a bear so he could take it back as a specimen to England but then another bear playfully takes the gun away from his hands anf from then he found out that the species of these bears are intelligent that they could learn English and they have also a deep appetite for marmalade.

Years had past, the two bears living peacefully with their nephew when an earthquake strikes in their land. Distracted and lost because of the loss of his home, Paustino is unable to reach the shelter in time and disappears with his hat being found next day by his nephew. Aunt Lucy incourages her nephew to go and find solace in London and stows him on a cargo ship

The young bear reaches London but he fails to find his home He is found by the Brown family and got his name after the Station where they found the lost bear and it's Paddington. Henry Brown was supposed to let Paddington to stay for only one night while they were finding a place for him to live permanently.
Paddington thinks he can find a home with the explorer who found his aunt and uncle, but he does not know the explorer's name. With the help of Mary Brown takes Paddington to an antique shop owner who discovers that the hat bears the stamp of the Geographers Guild, but the Guild says that it never sent a member to explore darkest Peru. Paddington infiltrates the Geographers Guild archives and discovers an expedition to Peru was undertaken by Montgomery Clyde. He uses the city's phone books to track the addresses of all the "M Clyde"s in London.
Meanwhile, a sadistic museum taxidermist named Millicent Clyde captures, kills, and stuffs exotic animals to house in the Natural History Museum. When she becomes aware of Paddington, she immediately sets out to hunt him down.
Feeling unwanted at the Browns, Paddington leaves and attempts to track Montgomery Clyde himself. He finally locates the house, only to discover that Clyde died many years ago, and that Millicent is actually his daughter – who resents her father for losing his job and membership with the museum; out of a change of heart, he refused to bring a valuable Peruvian bear specimen home, even though it would have made him the wealthiest man in the world. Millicent is determined to succeed where her father failed and become rich and famous herself. She tranquilises Paddington and prepares to stuff him, but when Mr. Curry discovers her true intentions, he informs the Brown family and they rush to save Paddington. They rescue him, and Paddington subdues Millicent by throwing a marmalade sandwich at her, which attracts a huge flock of pigeons, distracting her as family relative Mrs. Bird opens a roof hatch and inadvertently pushes her off of the roof, trapping her on a flagpole.
In the aftermath, the Browns adopt Paddington into their family and Millicent is sentenced to community service at a petting zoo. Paddington writes to Aunt Lucy saying he is happy and has finally found a home.

"When I was small I never went to bed without a story. But I doubt my mother ever pictured me writing for a living. In fact, when I eventually gave up working for the BBC in order to write full time, I think both my parents were worried that I had given up a nice, safe job for what sounded to them like a very precarious existence."

"I bought a small toy bear on Christmas Eve 1956. I saw it left on a shelf in a London store and felt sorry for it. I took it home as a present for my wife Brenda and named it Paddington as we were living near Paddington Station at the time. I wrote some stories about the bear, more for fun than with the idea of having them published. After ten days I found that I had a book on my hands. It wasn’t written specifically for children, but I think I put into it the kind things I liked reading about when I was young."

Movie Review: Parasyte

Movie Review: Parasyte

 Parasyte the Movie:

A 17-yearold teenager named Shinichi lives in the quiet outskirts of Tokyo. It was a peaceful evening for him when he suddenly awaken from his sleep
as a parasite tries to enter to his ears and take over his mind.

The parasite failed to enter his skull since Shinichi is wearing his headphones, instead the parasite tries to penetrate into his arm. He imediately rapped his hands with a bandage or a cloth, stoping the parasite to enter up to him (to his brain).

As the parasite failed on getting thru his mind and taking up his body and mind, as a result the parasite begins to grow to maturity into his arm and take it over,
though Shinichi remains as himself. The shape-shifting parasitic named as "Migi," has no knowledge of where it came from given that the parasites are essentially mindless pre-infection, but rapidly picks up human language and knowledge as Shinichi is forced to develop an uneasy coexistence with it and hide its presence.

Meanwhile, he comes into contact with several other "fully grown" members of Migi's kind who appear to be wreaking havoc on the surrounding areas.

Parasyte is a Japanese movie that is originated from its manga version. Parasyte: the maxim. Somehow the movie version insulted the avid readers of the manga version of Parasyte. The fans said that some important scene or part from the book was not in the movie. It didn't reach their expectations.

APC ANTI-SMOKING CAMPAIGN: Burn, Sick, Kills

APC ANTI-SMOKING CAMPAIGN: Burn, Sick, Kills

DID YOU KNOW THAT...
"If you won't give up smoking for your lungs, heart or throat, maybe you'll do it for your penis."

1. Did you know that there's a valve in your penis that traps the blood inside do you can get an erection? That every time you smoke, this valve is damaged? That if you don't quit now, it might stop working altogether? I bet you don't want to get your shafts smaller than a 4 year old boy.

 2. Smokers are more likely to get spots. Smoking weakens the skin's blood circulation, which increases the risk of infections. Smokers' acne is more difficult than usual.

3. A yellow smile reveals the smokers. The discoloration is caused by tar getting stuck in the cracks of tooth enamel. Smoking and using snuff can cause oral cancer.

4. Smoking causing nine out of ten lung cancer cases. The risk of getting lung cancer increases the earlier you start to smoke, the longer you smoke and the more you smoke.

5. Smoking mothers. The chemicals from the cigarette travel unfiltered along umbilical cord straight to the fetus. This si how unborn child is exposed to even bigger levels of dangerous chemicals than the mother

"Hitler led the first and most powerful anti smoking campaign during 1930s and early 1940s. Smoker Nazis!"

Movie Review Turn Left, Turn Right

Movie Review Turn Left, Turn Right

“Beauty is such a certainty, but uncertainty is more beautiful.”

“Life is full of coincidences…even two parallel limns might some day meet.”

It must be frustrating waiting for someone you met a decade ago. The one you truly like but never tell what you felt about them before. And then this sudden moment came, you two met each other again. You look into his eyes and he did the same. Both of you felt it but didn't bother to show it because you're afraid of what happened before and you didn't want to happen the same thing again.

But destiny was tricky, you two met again, exchange numbers, and enjoy the rest of the day looking with each others eye and at the end, both of you destined to lost each others hand again.

Turn Left, Turn Right. This film is full of misfortune sequence that made it more interesting to watch and frustrates you that made this film more tricky. This film was inspired from the popular illustrated novel written by Jimmy Liao, which has followers worldwide,

John Liu, the struggling violinist was portrayed by (Takeshi Kaneshiro). John lives alone in an apartment around the streets of Taipei. He is a shy type person, a loner who has practically no friends.

Eve Choi was portrayed by (Gigi Leung). A struggling Polish translator who also lives alone around the streets of Taipei. Eve is also a loner same with John Liu. Eve loves to translate Polish love poems. She has a long time crush for a boy who helped her when her papers flew by the wind in a school trip when she was in high school. And that boy was John Lui who's living beside the apartment where she is living.
Both of them longing for each other not knowing that the person that they're searching for lives right next door of their apartment, separated by a wall of bricks. And the only reason why they never met is because the one turns right and the other turns left.
