In 1925 she enrolled at the University of the Philippines of Education where she earned her Bachelor of Science in degree of Education, and took a graduate coarse at the University of Santo Tomas (UST).

It was not long before Mrs. Benitez, the editor of Herald Midweek Magazine encouraged her to write and publish her works in the magazine. She became nationally known when Jose Garcia Villa included her story "Sunset", in his anthology of Philippine Short Stories in 1929.

Paz Marquez Benite
It was considered the best published that year. Her works of fiction are included in the Philippine Prose and Poetry series which are used as textbooks in public high schools. Aside from “Sunset”, her best works include “Small Key”, inPhilippine Herald , in 1927; “Myrrh”, in Graphic , 1931; “Years and a Day”, inTribune , 1936; and “Desire”, in Literary Apprentice in 1937. All of them were included in Jose Garcia Villa's roll of honor from 1926-1940.

In her senior year, Latorena transferred to the University of Sto. Tomas, from which institution she graduated in 1930 and where she subsequently enrolled for graduate studies. Her dissertation entitled “Philippine Literature in English: Old Voices and New” received a grade of sobre saliente, qualifying her for a doctoral degree in 1934. By this time, Latorena had already joined the faculty, earning a reputation as a dynamic teacher. Among her many students were then-aspiring writers Juan Gatbonton, F. Sionil Jose, Nita Umali, Genoveva Edroza Matute and Zeneida Amador. Increasingly involved in academic work, Latorena wrote fewer stories and at longer intervals, publishing her last known story, “Miguel Comes Home”, in 1945. In 1953 while proctoring a final examination, Latorena suffered a cerebral hemorrhage which proved fatal.

Latorena's stories have a wistfulness which tells of a gentle disillusionment with life. Many of her stories chronicle the unexpressed heartaches of women. There is bitterness, however, but sadness over certain dreams left unfulfilled.

Thirty-five of her stories have recently been collected in a single volume: Desire and Other Stories, edited by Eva V. Kalaw (U.S.T., 2000).

STOP MAKING TIRED EXCUSES!

STOP MAKING TIRED EXCUSES!

"What would you do. Get up on my feet and STOP MAKING TIRED EXCUSES!

Different classes from different School departments showcase their skills in songwriting, voice quality, creativity and unity of their clan as one in the Cheers and Chants Competition last Friday, February 5, 2015 held at APC Auditorium. The Aura inside the auditorium immediately heated up as Mr. Nomer Yuzon hands a mic and sing a song for his lively students.

Classes from ABMA 151 to ABMA 155 and classes from School of Engineering show-off their prepared performances in their own unique style and gimmicks. ABMA 151 wore a pink shirt that has ABMA151 on it and a pink ribbon on the top of their head as an accessories. Basically these guys brought up the spirit of cuteness inside the APC Auditorium in their cute cheer-leading
concept.

Every class has their own concept. And as a ABMA student, the quirky kiddo's from ABMA 152 shared their experiences of being an ABMA student. Though they're only in their first step, these guys already have their thoughts of what they will be facing in the next years that they will spend as a students of this multimedia course.

The objective of this group's performance is for everyone to know how hard to be an ABMA student. Their chants and cheers was all about what are the things you have to sacrifice in exchange of good grades and success. The opportunities and the ups' and downs' stages of being an ABMA student.

"How about clothes? How about leisure?Forget about those! Art is something we can't lose."

Came up on stage with a camouflage, ABMA 153 caught the attention of the audience when they started stumping and march like a soldiers. They started good though they've got some difficulties in the end, but they managed to finish the performance well with confidence with themselves also as the conjoined for of ABMA 154 and 155 rocked the whole stage when they came up with their black and orange motif suits.

As the stage was set for the three other class of engineering students. ABMA students couldn't manage to react but only to drop everyone's jaw. Engineering students got the audience taste because of the magnificent light effects and other props that they had used in the competition. Some nailed because of the props but some really have something on their song and performance that can make everyone say "WOW!".

Att the end. The students from School of Engineering, ECE151 got the title of Cheers and Chants trophy for the year 2016 followed by another engineering class and ABMA 151.

"Congratulations winners!"

CHARCOAL SKETCHES

CHARCOAL SKETCHES

  • Known as one of the quarto-lords in the field of artworks.
  • Likes horses because they posses strength and hard-work.
  • Korean-Pop enthusiast.
  • Silent but have something to show off.
  • Cute and sometimes bubbly.
These are the 5 Common Qualities that they know about her. But what words can't really define her or anyone.

"I'm the toughest horse they will ever meet."

She said does words to herself even  her life was full of disgrace and misery. She always thought about the good stuff though she's having opposite-perspective life than the other teenagers have, like... Does she missed something to do in the past? Why she didn't experienced what she should experience?  But the faith within was still there and it keeps on burning and that's what makes her to believe again that there is something different that will happen and she have to wait for the right time for it is fruitful.

"You'll regret not dating me in Highschool."-Tiffany of SNSD
She loves the idea of loving someone but no one dares to giveback the love that she's giving. Basically, You love and get hurt at the same time. The awful truth of a One Sided Love. </3

"Might be silent but there is something deep inside.."

A silent and shy type person (always thinking about the something weird. She own's a Wonderland inside her skull).Weird because normal is boring. She draw whenever she get bored. She sing and dance while taking a bath but not in front of a crowd. She's actually a performer but only for herself. Also loves nature and animals particularly dogs and cats, and everything about them. Wants to travel a lot as mhas uch as the place is interesting and if it is really nice and refreshing. City is not her style, especially EDSA where there is always traffic-jam, exclude BGC-Taguig from it because it a nice walk-way and the field is open for everyone to feel the breeze of the air.

 "Since love isn't fair..."
She said does words to herself even though her life was full of disgracefulness and misery. She always thought about positive sides even she's having opposite-perspective life than the other teenagers have, like... Does she missed something to do in the past? Why she didn't experienced what she should experience?  But the faith within was still there and it keeps on burning and that's what makes her to believe again that there is something different that will happen and she have to wait for the right time for it is fruitful.

She quoted. She found something that she could give her special love for, instead of giving it for the someone who doesn't deserve it. KPOP. (For some-lads it is kinda corny, O.A. and so what ever, but it's not. KPOP is awesome because this genre is a complete package of Sing, dance, rap, fashion and cuteness. try to explore it and for sure you'll gonna like it.)

Seonyeoshidae introduced her to KPOP world or Hallyu. And her first fandom as a SONE. EXO captured her heart, like any other guys she fell in love with and it was different that time, it was just like a true love. Someones first true love... But love also has its end just like relationships, heartbreaks, someone leaving. She thinking about all those emotional stress. She couldn't handle it, and it leads to break-up.

But there's always a hope. And Hope rescued her from sorrows.. He lift her up high to see the light. And that was BangtanSeoyeondan.

"A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others." - Ayn Rand
She's a fan of animated series of Disney, Pixars and Dream Works. Their concept, the story within the movie, the characters and the art styles, the cinematic effects inspires her to become one of those creators. Each of them was different but the viewers can relate to it. They never get lost of beautiful ideas. Her Goals in Life is to foresee herself entering one of those big entertainment companies in the further future. This is how her she believes. We know that It may take so many years and failures in life to reach my goals but if the courage in me is still burning after so many years. She know that she can do it! Challenging yourself to do more further makes you a tougher person person. That is what Rhea Angelique Nabayo is believing for. What I'am believing for. No words can can define what are you capable of...

"Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory."
- George S. Patton
